The AFA Board has 15 positions.
Four officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer), a Past President and a College Representative for each of the ten MCCCD colleges.

All AFA Board Members serve the AFA 501(c)(3) professional association as volunteers in positions that have designated duties according to the current AFA Bylaws, AFA Policy Manual well-established principles of nonprofit corporation law, and as may be further designated by the AFA Board.
AFA Board Members may also provide specific representation services on behalf of the MCCCD Adjunct Faculty Employee Group.
The Officers are elected through a self-nomination, nomination review and an AFA Board interview and election process.
College Representative members are selected through process carried out within each College.
